My, My, My Corona
It blows my mind when I think that the entire world can come together to perform Social Distancing. Don't you wonder what else we could do as a global species? So then I think, why haven't we? I guess most of it is driven by an urgent sense of self preservation. What is in it for me if I socially distance myself? But my optimistic side says, yes, but it has also been for the good of others. Bear with me. I am free thinking. I don't know when in the history of mankind has all the world been 'on the same page' on anything. And for the most part COOPERATING. Well, it just goes to show you that we could... if only we would.
I'm not even going to go down the religion road on this (although I could). But just think if the media and the leaders of the world's nations could convince everyone of the dangers of hate. It is highly contagious and if it is not contained it will destroy all who are touched by it. What if there was a media barrage against it? And all the leaders urged their citizens to take a pledge to avoid it at all cost because it can destroy them and possibly the nation as a whole. And everyone bought into it and cooperated.
I don't know. Human behavior is a funny thing. Mob mentality is even funnier. I still don't get the whole Charmigeddon thing or the canning lid scare several years ago. Remember that? Canning Grannies were freaking out. I'm a die hard conspiracy theorist. You will never convince me that there is not a dark paneled room somewhere in the world in which a few powerful men are determining the direction of the global markets. Pull that string. Make that happen. And they just get richer. But who would invent a shortage of canning lids. That one still puzzles me.
